Where are you located?
Just a short distance from Moose Jaw, between Moose Jaw and Caronport. The best way to ensure you find us is to use your smartphone GPS maps app and have your maps app direct you right to us. Who is Honey Pot Distillery?
We are a family-run micro-distillery that began many years ago as beekeepers and developed from a passion for making quality products with our raw honey into distilled spirits. Our Vodka & Whikie starts with our honey season from spring to fall. Once our honey harvest is complete we base filter to use raw honey during the production of our spirits, filtered and infused to create a smooth hive-to-bottle experience. Our Vodka and Whikie are naturally gluten-free. Why not “Whisky”? It takes 3 years aged in a barrel to be called “Whisky”. Our process allows our Whikie to have a comparable flavour to our finished barrel-aged whisky, it just has not been aged 3 years.
To enhance our customer’s experience, and compliment our spirits, we have added a small restaurant/pub with limited capacity and limited hours to our micro-distillery where we have carefully created a smokehouse-inspired menu using our honey in many of our house-made sauces and recipes. We choose to slow-smoke many of the meats on our menu to offer a taste and full experience unlike anywhere else.
How can I purchase Honey Pot Distillery Spirits?
You can come into the location anytime during our business hours to purchase our spirits. You do not have to have a reservation to do this. Currently, we do not sell in stores but will be in the future. If you are a business looking to add our products to your stores, bars or restaurants, email us at sales@honeypotdistillery.com
Do you produce wine, mead, or beer?
No. We produce hard liquor or liqueurs only. We will leave the wine and beer-making up to our fellow local producer professionals and support them where we can.
Do I need a reservation for the Distillery restaurant?
No, however, we have a limited 50-person capacity with limited table configurations. We do offer bar seating to walk-ins, and tables where possible. We highly recommend reserving ahead of time as we are open for limited hours and can reserve weeks out. We are so happy everyone is excited to try out our food and craft cocktail menus and we are looking forward to serving you. Check out our reservation page for more details. We reserve the right to offer your table to other customers if your party is 15 minutes late for your reservation. We are approximately 15-20 mins outside of Moose Jaw (depending on road conditions), please plan accordingly for your reserved time. If you are running late, please call or text us to let us know. If you are bringing a party bus, typically the bus can take 30mins to 1 hour to load your party and make its way out to us so adjust for that time to be on time for your reservation. Reservations via text to 3066908360
*If you cannot make your reservation or your party number has decreased, please let us know asap as this could free up a table for other people on our reservation waiting list. Respectfully, we would rather have full tables than empty ones.
Is there a time limit on a Table reservation?
We allow for 1 hour on 1-3 person tables, 1 hour and 45 mins on 4-5 tables, and 2 hrs on 6+ per table reservation however you are welcome to stay longer if you are enjoying cocktails. We will try to keep you at a table however may have to ask you to move to the bar seating to accommodate other reservations where you can continue enjoying your cocktails.
Are you inclusive?
Yes. We are proud to provide an inclusive environment with neutral bathrooms. For those with allergies, we are celiac aware and offer a designated gluten-free fryer and toaster as well as many items on our menu are gluten-free, including our house-made sauces. We have vegetarian and dairy-free options available as well. Please always make the server aware of any allergies before ordering.
Do you have Live Entertainment?
We offer live music occasionally.
We will post events on our website, on Facebook AND Instagram. Please make sure your settings for Facebook and Instagram are set to get alerts/notifications from us so you don’t miss any updates.
If you are an artist/musician looking for a place to showcase your talent, send us an email info@honeypotdistillery.com with a sample of your work.
Do you provide safe rides?
We do not personally offer rides but we do have an arrangement through Bad Intentions for a 15% discount offer to all those coming out to our distillery on a party bus. This is to be arranged directly through Bad Intentions and is dependent upon availability. Cabs also will come out to offer rides to customers at their own cost.
Are Minors allowed?
Yes, however, we are still an adult-focused location. As we are a 19+ liquor-focused distillery offering higher-end cocktails and a restaurant, we do not offer highchairs or booster seats however we do allow minors with adults to be seated until 8 pm. Minors are not allowed at the bar, are to refrain from running/screaming around, and are to be watched by their parents/guardians to ensure an enjoyable dining experience for the adult guests. We love having your little ones and we are happy to serve our little guests, however, we do often have live bees in our distillery and adults enjoying cocktails so we ask parents to respect the type of environment (and safety) we require for us to continue allowing minors.
Why are you not open more hours?
We are a micro-distillery for production first, and a restaurant/pub second. Although we would love to be open every day to the public, there are a few factors we have to consider. We have extended summer hours and unfortunately did not see enough of an increase in customers joining us on those hours so we will remain open only Friday & Saturday evenings for the time being. During the Christmas season, we extend our hours to accommodate Christmas Cheer, parties, and private events. We (the owners) are very much a part of everyday operations from distillery production to food preparation, supply runs, and during open hours, bartending, cooking or serving you. We are thankful to the small staff, we consider family, who have joined us to help during our open hours however we are mainly family-run, and we cannot provide more hours than listed at this time. This also applies to any calls or messages after hours. We appreciate your understanding.
Can I reserve a large group?
Yes. For groups larger than 12 we require a $30/seat deposit at the time of your reservation. A tally is required 1 week before your reservation with a concrete number confirmation required 2 days prior to your reservation. During our busiest Christmas season the final confirmation deadline is minimum 1 week however this is discussed and detailed on the deposit invoice at the time of booking. The deposit will be returned 3-5 business days after your reservation to the form of payment used for the deposit. For example, if you reserve 20 seats(and have confirmed the party of 20 by the deadline OR do not confirm and the deadline lapses) and only 10 show up, there is no refund on those 10 seats($30/seat) and it will not be applied to the total order receipt at the end of your reservation. This is considered a cover charge similar to other bars. If you bring your final confirmed party number (20 in this example), you will have your full deposit refunded to you 3-5 business days after the day of reservation. The deposit does not go towards any food or drinks the night of the reservation, this is refunded afterward completely separate. A minimum 18% gratuity is expected for groups of 6 or more.
Can we move tables around/together?
No. Although we understand you want your party to eat and drink all together at the same table, our tables and venue spacing is limited. We will do our best to offer tables in the same section to keep your group together where you can be free to mingle. We will move smaller tables to accommodate certain table seating arrangements at our discretion with pathways taken into consideration. We may keep tables separate to allow servers and customers to safely move around, as well as for fire code requirements. We do not offer banquet-style seating. We reserve the right to seat you at tables at our discretion to accommodate other reservations. All large group reservations will be sat at tables, not the bar, unless we do not have tables available. If this is the case we would make every attempt to seat you at tables next to those bar seats but this would be discussed at the time of reservation if this was ever a concern and would depend on the party numbers, etc.
Can I reserve a private party/Event?
Private bookings are available; we do have times of the year that are limited so booking in advance is recommended. A full venue/50-seat fee plus a minimum 20% gratuity is a requirement, a 50% deposit is to be paid at the time of booking with the remaining 50% due by 1 week before reservation/event. For weddings or peak times, full payment may be required sooner. If you are interested in this option, email info@honeypotdistillery.com to discuss further. For Christmas party private bookings, please reserve early as we book up quickly.
Why is there a deposit fee?
We have had to implement a per-seat deposit fee because we have had several reservations show up late which then affects our other table reservations and/or show up without their confirmed party number which costs us reservations off our waiting list. As we have to staff accordingly for group/large reservations, we also prepare smoked food (which can take up 16 hours) for the numbers we have reserved. We are thankful for your understanding and want to continue offering a unique but intimate atmosphere and experience to our customers; we ask all to be respectful of all customers’ reservations as well as the staff who help make your dining experience a fun one.
Do you offer a mobile bartending service?
Yes, we do! Check out the details HERE. We carry all the costs for a fully stocked bar and are permitted with licensed bartenders to suit groups of varying sizes. We are currently booking into fall 2024; to inquire or reserve your spot now, please email info@honeypotdistillery.com
